We’re thrilled to share that Flight Sergeant Jason Dhayaparan has been named one of just 12 national finalists for the prestigious Westminster Award—and one of only three RAF Air Cadets across the entire country to reach this stage!
The Westminster Award, run by the Cadet Vocational College, recognises cadets who go above and beyond in their service, leadership, and impact both within cadets and in the wider world. Jason earned his place after an exceptional performance at the Stage 3 selection event, impressing assessors with his communication, teamwork, and the positive influence he brings to every space he’s in.

He’ll now take on the final expedition phase later this year where he competes with the other 11 finalists to be crowned the winner of the Westminister Award, before being invited to a formal celebration lunch at the House of Lords in September—an incredible opportunity and a well-deserved honour.

“Jason is one of the most dedicated and thoughtful leaders we’ve ever had at the Squadron,” said WO Daniel Sturdy, Squadron Warrant Officer and CVC Leader. “He leads by example, motivates others, and brings real integrity to everything he does. We couldn’t be prouder.”

We can’t wait to see what he does next!
