January has looked very different for the Squadron. Along with many other squadrons we have been temporarily relocated due to ongoing maintenance issues with our buildings. This meant our January YFA (Youth First Aid) course also had to be relocated. However undeterred by this, the cadets turned up eager to learn first aid.
We consider first aid to be one of the most important things we teach and have many past examples of cadets and staff rendering emergency first aid, which may very well have made life or death differences to casualties. Reacting quickly and correctly when a situation arises makes the difference both for the casualty but also for the first aiders mental health afterwards, so this training is vital.

Amongst the things learned over the weekend were CPR, dealing with cuts and bleeds, conscious and unconscious casualties, as well as a variety of first aid scenarios. All of the cadets passed assessment, so well done to them and our thanks to CWO O'Connell, the main Instructor and FS Seymour, our additional Assessor. Watch out for the badge presentations shortly.

For those interested in joining our Squadron please reach out via email or watch out for our next Open Night in events. We look forward to welcoming new faces to our community.
